So Brian Stelfreeze was kind enough to take a break from working on a commission to spend a few minutes to look over my work. He really helped me think about comic art and paneling. He said to stop thinking about it as art and clean lines and think more about the fluid lines in a figure and the narrative. He also recommended spending a month just looking at people and drawing out the major lines and sweeps in their stances. It’s going to be a tough month but I think he’s right. I’ve been concentrating about trying to get it right instead of the emotion or gravity of the scene. We’ll see how this exercise goes. I really do need to let go sometimes.
