This was my random thought for today. Enjoy!
I know it feels like ages since Famished on Etsy has been updated but the dust has finally settled here (literally- it settled and then we had to spend days cleaning it up as we had work done to the house) and we’re getting back to business!
The tiny, felted, sky bison Appa lands in the shop straight out of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Only four of these were made and only three of these are listed for sale. Avatar Aang will probably be buying one so let’s just say there’s two left for you guys out there.
Last but not least:
The most economic of solutions in the shop: Baby Death trading cards. As you can see, the registrations for these are all over the place but that’s what makes them AAAAWESOME! Plus they’re under two bucks total shipping included. (Hmm, from the photo- the one on the right almost looks like he’s holding an Erlenmeyer flask).
Just click on the photos to be taken to the respective items on my magical etsy storefront 🙂
I haven’t done a larger format felted piece in a while. X-Men versus Sentinel? What do you guys think? I’m a bit under the weather unfortunately but the etsy shop will be stocked soon. Finished are penguins and Appa from Avatar: the Last Airbender. Next up are Baby Death and mini Totoro. Then the plan is for Yoda and Admiral Ackbar to return followed by tiny AT-ATs. I’ll be looking to redo my felted Vader concept and offer prints (starting of course with Baby Death trading cards). All this while working on my comic art. 2013 was great but I’m excited for 2014. Hope you guys are too!
First up is a quick rough of Appa from the Avatar: the Last Airbender series to show you a little bit about how I think of things when I do needle-felting. I normally don’t sketch ideas down, but I feel like it’s good practice and it saves some time in that it prevents mistakes.
Next up? Emo baby Minotaur:
This has probably been done, but if it hasn’t- here’s my take. If you’ve never had the opportunity to watch the series Avatar: the Last Airbender, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my favorite cartoon series of all time, right up there with Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot. If you were unfortunate enough to watch the movie (so I hear, as I’ve never seen the movie) without having seen the show, then cleanse your palate with the show. It’s a wonderful mix of humor, friendship and morality without being preachy. Besides, there’s Appa the air bison and Momo the flying lemur: good times!
