Some amazing comic book legends are up today at the EXP Expo! We’re talking about Dan Jurgens, Jim Starlin, Mark Bagley, John Romita Jr., Ron Lim, Brian Haberlin & more! That’s a lot of characters covered between Marvel, DC & Image!
Check the schedule below. Also, find me on the indie creator panel starting at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m. ET. I’ll be with Travis Gibb, Cory De La Guardia, William K. Holland, & Nicole Fernandez!
This event runs through tomorrow so don’t miss out.
Thanks for stopping by! First, my store is updated on Etsy and is now officially rebranded as Nguyening It! It also means I won’t be taking the time to do any needlefelting in the foreseeable future. Never say never though, right?
I’ll be getting magnets and possibly some original art up as well. I don’t know where Comic Con at Home will take me, but you don’t know unless you try and put forth some effort right?
I previewed some character sketches for a project I was doing with my friend Mike Korpi. Well, I actually finished that piece but I’m going to be showing you that work here. As you may know, Wannabe Press’s Cthulu Is Hard to Spell: the Terrible Twos funded and is headed to production. Amazing people are still supporting art and creativity in this time. It’s a tough time for the world right now. A lot of people are hurting. I hope artwork and stories can help alleviate some if the anxiety and give people escape. As always, thanks for being here.
Hi friends! Long time no see! Let’s start with the fact I just finished a comic submission with my friend Mike Korpi and it’ll be part of bigger anthology that you won’t want to miss. I’ll fill you in soon!
Here’s the start of my next project- also with Mike! Well, I actually started awhile back but I’m drawing character concepts right now.
Can you believe January is almost over?! Yikes
Quick warmup sketch of Hellboy. What did you guys think of the trailer?
I think I almost have it. I simplified the hedgehog with better lines and larger shapes. I’ll convert to a vector drawing and work with fills to solidify the idea next.
Trying to simplify this hedgehog design.
Took my sketch and started a first draft concept tattoo design. I wanted the fox and hedgehog to be geometric. I think the fox is almost there, but I need to simplify the hedgehog.
My wife asked what I thought about drawing a fox tattoo. At first I thought she meant a fox and a hedgehog together; so, I doodled these. In looking for references, I discovered that the Fox and the Hedgehog are actually part of a philosophical pondering. Did you know about this?
This is a concept I submitted. It might be used later. Keep an eye out.
